Bjarg's projects

Bjarg's mission is to provide tenants with secure homes for long-term rent. The company has made agreements with various municipalities in Iceland for building and renting apartments, discussions are also at an early stage in other municipalities.

1049 tenants have already received their apartments.
204 apartments are under construction or design process.

Projects in process

  • Húsavík, 6 apartments. The apartments are scheduled to be ready for rent in April 2025. 
  • Safamýri 58 - 60 (by Háleitisbraut), Reykjavík, 36 apartments. Constructions started in October 9th 2024 and the apartments are expected to be ready for rent in June 2026. Applications will open in the summer of 2025.

  • Brekknaás, Reykjavík 48 apartments. First apartments were delivered to new tenants in July 2024. The project was fully accomplished in February 2025.
  • Suðurnesjabær (Sandgerði) 11 apartments. Project started in June 2023. Apartments were ready in February 2025. 
  • Hella, 5 apartments. Project started in April 2024. The apartments were ready in January 2025. 
  • Akranes, Asparskógar 3, 24 apartments. The project was fully accomplished summer 2024.
  • Hvolsvöllur, 4 apartments. The project was fully accomplished summer 2024.
  • Garðabær, Maríugata 5 (Urriðaholti), 22 apartments. The project was fully accomplished in March 2023.
  • Grindavík, 10 apartments. The project was fully accomplished in March 2023.
  • Tangabryggja 1, Bryggjuhverfi, Reykjavík. 23 apartments.The project was fully accomplished in June 2022.
  • Bátavogur 1, Vogabyggð, Gelgjutangi, Reykjavík. 60 apartments, the starting point in May 2020. The project was fully accomplished in March 2022.
  • Selfoss, 28 apartments (Heiðarstekkur in Björk). The first tenants moved in June 2021. The project was fully accomplished in December 2021.
  • Silfratjörn, Úlfarársdal in Reykjavík, 66 apartments. The first tenants moved in September 1st 2020. The project was fully accomplished in October 2021.
  • Akureyri (in Gudmannshagi) 31 apartments. The first tenants moved in November 1st 2020. The project was fully accomplished in April 2021.
  • Hraunbær 153-163 in Reykjavík, 79 apartments. The first tenants moved in November 1st, 2020. The project was fully accomplished in March 2020.
  • Hallgerðargata 2-16 in Reykjavík, 64 apartments. The first tenants moved in November 1st, 2020. The project was fully accomplished in April 2021.
  • Þorlákshöfn, 12 apartments in Sambyggð. All apartments were ready in October 2020.
  • Urðarbrunnur, Úlfarársdal in Reykjavík, 66 apartments. The first tenants moved in, in August 2019. The project was fully accomplished in April 2020.
  • Móavegur, Grafarvogi in Reykjavík, 124 apartments. The first tenants moved in, in June 2019.
