Bjarg's projects

Bjarg's mission is to provide tenants with secure homes for long-term rent. The company has made agreements with various municipalities in Iceland for building and renting apartments, discussions are also at an early stage in other municipalities.

1024 tenants have already received their apartments. 121 apartments are under construction or design process and 859 apartments are in preparation.

Projects in process

  • Brekknaás, Reykjavík, 48 apartments. First apartments were delivered to new tenants in July 2024. Information on allocation and beginning of rent can be found here.
  • Suðurnesjabær (Sandgerði) 11 apartments. The project is already in process, the apartments are scheduled to be ready February 1st, 2024. Information on allocation an beginning of rent can be found here. 
  • Hella, 5 apartments. Starting point April 2024. The apartments are scheduled to be ready for rent in January 2025. 
  • Húsavík, 6 apartments. The apartments are scheduled to be ready for rent in April 2025. 
  • Safamýri 58 - 60 (by Háleitisbraut), Reykjavík, 40 apartments. In design process. Starting point scheduled in October 2024.

  • Tangabryggja 1, Bryggjuhverfi, Reykjavík. 23 apartments.The project was fully accomplished in June 2022.
  • Bátavogur 1, Vogabyggð, Gelgjutangi, Reykjavík. 60 apartments, the starting point in May 2020. The project was fully accomplished in March 2022.
  • Selfoss, 28 apartments (Heiðarstekkur in Björk). The first tenants moved in June 2021. The project was fully accomplished in December 2021.
  • Silfratjörn, Úlfarársdal in Reykjavík, 66 apartments. The first tenants moved in September 1st 2020. The project was fully accomplished in October 2021.
  • Akureyri (in Gudmannshagi) 31 apartments. The first tenants moved in November 1st 2020. The project was fully accomplished in April 2021.
  • Hraunbær 153-163 in Reykjavík, 79 apartments. The first tenants moved in November 1st, 2020. The project was fully accomplished in March 2020.
  • Hallgerðargata 2-16 in Reykjavík, 64 apartments. The first tenants moved in November 1st, 2020. The project was fully accomplished in April 2021.
  • Þorlákshöfn, 12 apartments in Sambyggð. All apartments were ready in October 2020.
  • Urðarbrunnur, Úlfarársdal in Reykjavík, 66 apartments. The first tenants moved in, in August 2019. The project was fully accomplished in April 2020.
  • Móavegur, Grafarvogi in Reykjavík, 124 apartments. The first tenants moved in, in June 2019. 
  • Akranes, 33 apartments in Asparskógar. The first tenants moved in, in June 2019.
